KCTCS Building Performance Institute (BPI) Energy Auditor/Building Analyst Training and Certification Program The Energy Auditor Training program is for individuals preparing to take the Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst exam. The training program will focus on the home as a system. Students will receive in class training as well as hands-on training. The student will learn how to use a thermal imager, blower door, and a duct blaster to evaluate home performance.

Upon completion of this training the student will have the training needed to take the Building Performance Institute Building Analyst exam. All training approved by BPI. Each class is set up as a combination lecture/lab and consists of classroom instruction and demonstration/hands-on with an approximate 50/50 ratio. KCTCS offers an 80-hour course consisting of 10 days and is for 5 credit hours, a 40-hour course consisting of 5 days, and a 20-hour Boot Camp course consisting of 3 days.
