COLLEGE LOGOS
Correct, incorrect uses

Each college and campus has received logos which use the tagline in a consistent manner. Numerous versions created by the KCTCS Marketing and Public Relations Department take into account all possible uses. Logos should not be altered at the college or campus level.

Tagline fonts:

Use only Trajan Regular and Bold fonts for the tagline. The fonts should not be altered or distorted either vertically or horizontally. The tagline font can be altered in only one instance -- when it is used within the body copy of an ad or collateral piece. Bold is only to be used in reverse instances smaller than 12 pt. Also, Trajan Regular and Bold are available only as uppercase letters – there are no lowercase characters.

If Trajan is not available in your font list, substitute Garamond for the KCTCS tagline and text within the KCTCS arch.

Tagline uses

Use the tagline under the logo (as set-up in the logo files) when the tagline is not used anywhere else in the design of the piece. Using the tagline in body copy does not constitute a major use of the tag.

The logos should not use the tagline in instances where the tag is used as a headline, subhead or as a major element in the design. This creates a redundant use of the tagline.

Colors

The approved colors for the college logos are PMS 541 and PMS 131 yellow. If one color is used please use either the PMS 541 blue or black.

The logo may be used in a one-color version other than Pantone 541 blue or black, but only if the approved colors are not in use. The color used must maintain the integrity of the logo.

Two-color version (Pantone 541 & 131) One-color version (Pantone 541) One color version (Black) PMS 131 yellow version (No), density weak, integrity compromised.

On a dark- colored background, the bold version of the reversed logo should be used

College fonts

The college font is set in Impact and should not be altered or substituted in any way.

The tagline “Community & Technical College” is set in Times New Roman, Bold.

The size relationship of the college name and the line below it, “Community and Technical College,” should remain consistent with what is shown in the examples using Ashland Community and Technical College.

The use of “Community & Technical College” under the logo is optional when the logo is used in conjunction with the system bar (see notes re: “Use With the System Bar.”) The logo must be in close proximity to the system bar for this usage to be effective.
