The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents approved a 2015-16 budget of $888,114,300 during its quarterly meeting today at Hopkinsville Community College. The budget includes a one percent or $1,000 salary increase, whichever is greater, for full-time faculty and staff.

Firefighters from across the state are sharpening their skills at the 86th Annual Kentucky State Fire School in Lexington. Classroom and hands-on training began today at the Lexington Convention Center and Cox Street parking lot (located behind Rupp Arena), and continue through June 7.

Firefighters from across the country will demonstrate their strength and skills during the Firefighter Combat Challenge this weekend. The event will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 30 at the Hilton Suites (Lexington Green) parking lot. The event continues at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 31.
