A Brief History of the Relationship between Lexington Community College and China
Since 1995 Lexington Community College has had a strong relationship with several universities and colleges in the People's Republic of China. These relationships are with Changsha University, Changsha Education College, Jinan University and Tianjin Foreign Studies University.
With each of these institutions LCC has a student and/or faculty exchange program. LCC has been bringing visiting faculty from these institutions since 1998 to spend a year on our campus. They teach the Introduction to Chinese language course and present lectures to a variety of classes. LCC also has agreements with these institutions to accept our students to study Chinese language and Chinese culture-tuition free. LCC provides teachers each summer to teach conversational English to middle and high school teachers of English in Changsha.
