Your investment in Hopkinsville Community College
will make a significant impact on the lives of our students,
and the businesses and communities we serve.
Private sector investments provide a critical
margin of support that enables HCC to
pursue excellence in classroom instruction,
training for business and industry, continuing
education, cultural enrichment, community
service, and economic development.
We consider it an honor to recognize our
benefactors who have invested significantly
in our mission and vision. Your name,
or the name of someone you wish to
honor, will be recognized in a special
way for your support of the Fulfilling the
Promise Campaign for HCC as outlined
in this brochure. Additional naming
opportunities may be developed at your
request. Named giving opportunities are
offered for outright gifts, cash pledges
over a five-year period, and irrevocable
planned gifts such as charitable trusts.
STUDENT SERVICES
FACILITY
A variety of naming opportunities will be
available in the proposed Student Services
Facility on the campus of Hopkinsville
Community College. The college's internal
and external stakeholders have identified
the building as HCC's highest capital
construction priority. The 20,000-squarefoot
facility will create a central location for
student-friendly support services. Once
completed, students will have more
convenient, centralized access to student
services than at any time in the history of
the college. The facility will serve as an
open, inviting gateway to Hopkinsville
Community College.
The proposed $4 million facility will feature
an atrium/foyer and student commons area,
and house the following campus

Endowments
The HCC Endowment is an aggregation
of gifts provided by donors with the
requirement they be held and invested in
perpetuity to generate earnings now and
in future years to support the donor's
intended purpose. Annual income generated
by endowments can be used to support
faculty and students, programs, and/or
operational needs of HCC. Endowments
greatly enhance the community college's
capacity to meet the needs of the region.
Named Academic Positions
Endowed Chair -
Minimum gift of $500,000
Endowed Professorship -
Minimum gift of $100,000
An endowed chair is a distinction
awarded to a faculty member in
recognition of significant contributions to
the individual's academic discipline. An
endowed chair may also be held by the
current chair or director of an academic
division. In addition to the academic
honor given to the individual, an
endowed chair or professorship provides
funding for support of his or her
teaching, research, and service
responsibilities and is supported by
annual income from a permanently
invested endowment fund. Income may
also be used to support the base salary
of the endowed chair or professorship,
unless expressly prohibited by the donor
or gift agreement.
Endowed Lectureship -
Minimum gift between $10,000 - $100,000
An endowed lectureship is a temporary
appointment and may be given to a
visiting scholar in temporary residence
or may be used to support a lecture
series on the topic for which the
lectureship was created.
Named Scholarship Endowment - Minimum gift of $5,000
HCC will name endowed scholarships
to support students attending the
community college. Donors may
designate the name, purpose, and
criteria for the awarding of scholarships
from the income generated by the
endowment. Scholarship endowments,
depending on the level, will support
partial or full-tuition scholarships to
one or more students at Hopkinsville
Community College.
Named Restricted Endowment -
Minimum gift of $5,000
HCC will name restricted endowments
to support faculty, staff, and student
programs and services. Donors may
designate the purpose of the endowment
such as faculty/staff professional
development, academic program support,
instructional equipment, campus beautification,
technology, or library.
Named Unrestricted Endowment - Minimum gift of $5,000
HCC will name unrestricted endowments
to support faculty, staff, and student
programs and services. Unrestricted
funds generated from endowments
provide HCC essential flexibility and
responsiveness to unexpected
opportunities and challenges.
