Hopkinsville Case for Support
A PROUD HISTORY

Founded in 1965 during the administration of Hopkinsville native Governor Edward T. "Ned" Breathitt, Hopkinsville Community College has a tradition of providing quality instruction at an affordable price at a location close to home. Nearly 40 years ago, a group of citizens and community leaders recognized the positive impact of locating a community college in the local area.

Because of the vision and foresight of its founders, HCC has represented a door of opportunity for business executives, single mothers, enlisted military and their dependents, recent high school graduates, senior citizens, and many others. Today, one need not look very far to find someone who has benefited from his or her experience at HCC. The decision to establish a two-year college in Hopkinsville has been far-reaching.

Your commitment to HCC will build on the foundation established by its first president, Dr. Thomas L. Riley, and the college's original advisory board members: George Street Boone; Smith Broadbent, III; W.W. Bryan; William G. Deatherage, Sr.; Frank Lacy, III; Louis B. Langhi; W.D. Talbert; Frances Talbert; and John Williams.
