Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC), with its four campuses in Hager Hill, Pikeville, Prestonsburg and Paintsville, has been changing lives for more than sixty years. In my brief tenure as President, I have seen tremendous growth and progress and I have witnessed the many lives that are changed each semester in our area. I am so proud of our students who share their struggles and their accomplishments and appreciate the opportunity to grow and to learn.

Our goal at Big Sandy Community and Technical College is to be responsive in meeting the educational needs of our citizens. However, with declining state resources and with increasing student needs, it becomes difficult to remain responsive and to maintain our history of excellence. Through a comprehensive strategic planning process, we have identified several challenges facing our region, and the College is poised to move to the next era in our history. This is why I am so excited about our major gifts campaign - Fulfilling the Promise.

The Fulfilling the Promise Campaign is a multi-year initiative that will certainly have a profound impact on postsecondary education throughout our five-county region. The campaign's four major objectives focus on endowment growth as well as gifts for current program quality. The Campaign will increase our capacity to provide scholarships for students, to employ additional faculty and provide professional development opportunities to enhance their effectiveness, to improve facilities on all campuses, and to provide opportunities to solve issues that develop as the institution grows and becomes more responsive to its constituents.
