Joe Ben Tucker is one of Madisonville Community College’s (MCC) all-time best friends.  His work on behalf of the College began in 1994 when he worked in partnership with the Everly Brothers Foundation and the City of Central City to provide a land donation of 21 acres for a MCC campus in Muhlenberg County.  From 1995 to 1999, Mr. Tucker and a ten-member campaign committee raised $3 million for construction of the facility which now provides a multitude of services for 500 students.  The Tucker family made a major gift for the project.  Mr. Tucker continues his role as one of MCC’s best ambassadors, serving as vice-chairman of the Madisonville College Foundation.  In addition to making his own gifts, Mr. Tucker has assisted the College in soliciting other gifts, the most recent being an estate gift of $1.4 million that will be endowed and provide approximately $90,000 in annual scholarships.

In July 2004, Farmers Bank provided a major five-year pledge in support of the Fulfilling the Promise Campaign to the Crittenden County Endowment for Excellence.  The endowment provides tuition, book, and travel support for Crittenden residents attending Madisonville Community College (MCC).  The pledge is one of the 25 largest scholarship gifts the College has ever received.  Bank board members, Jim and Bonita Hatfield, Joe and Susan Yarbrough, and Gareth and Dulcie Hardin, have also made generous campaign pledges. Bank President/CEO Gareth Hardin was recently elected to the Madisonville College Foundation Board of Directors.  The Bank  continues to support MCC in Crittenden and Webster Counties.
