Jeanne Soyars has served as the chair of Hopkinsville Community College’s Board of Directors since 1991.  She has been a standing member and ex-officio voting member of the Hopkinsville Community College Foundation, Inc. since 1994.  She established the Judge James Thomas Soyars Memorial Scholarship Fund in 1988 in memory of her husband.  Through Mrs. Soyars’ efforts and financial support for many years, scores of students have been able to pursue their education.  When the  Technology Center was built, Mrs. Soyars provided a gift to ensure that state-of-the-art equipment was available for training students.  When again called upon in the Fulfilling the Promise Campaign, she stepped up with a pledge for unrestricted funds and textbook scholarship assistance.  Mrs. Soyars has invested her time, energy, and resources to ensure that the College’s students receive the highest quality education in the region.
