Tom Phipps, president of the Putnam Insurance Agency of Peoples Bank, understands what a community-based college can do for the future of its community.  Tom and his wife, Betty Jean, are alumni of Ashland Community and Technical College and lifelong Ashland residents who are committed to helping provide educational opportunities through the Foundation’s Greatest Needs Fund.   They have supported the College for many years with their service and financial support.

The Foundation for the Tri-State Community, Inc. is a community foundation serving eastern Kentucky, southern Ohio, and southwestern West Virginia.  The Foundation represents all facets of the community with gifts made to diverse groups, including arts and cultural events, social service agencies, environmental causes, scholarships, and programs.  The Georgia Monroe Blazer Norris Fund was established by her grandchildren at the Foundation several years ago.  At the request of the grandchildren, a commitment of $50,000 has been pledged to the Fulfilling the Promise Campaign at Ashland Community and Technical College.
