Steve Merrick's ties to Somerset Community College date back to his days as a student in the late 1970s. Mr. Merrick continued his education at the University of Kentucky in Business Administration, returning to Somerset to work in the wood products industry. He is now the president of Somerset Wood Products, a privately owned and operated business and one of the largest manufacturers of Appalachian lumber and flooring in the Midwest. The company has two supporting production facilities, also located in Somerset, and a staff of over 500 employees. Mr. Merrick and his company have been generous supporters of the College and he is presently serving as co-chair of the College's Fulfilling the Promise Campaign.

Located in Russell Springs, First National Bank is proud to be a small, locally owned community bank devoted to providing quality service to its customers. First National Bank has a long history of community service and support of Somerset Community College. The Bank is under the leadership of President and CEO Charlene Harris who also chairs the Board of Directors of Somerset Community College and co-chairs the Fulfilling the Promise Campaign.
