Benefactors of the Year, 2004MAYSVILLE COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGE DISTRICTBack to BenefactorsBill and Janice Doan, Cynthiana Honored by Maysville Community and Technical College Bill and Janice Doan have spent their professional lives in public service-Mrs. Doan in the field of library science and Mr. Doan in school administration including his fifteen years with Griffin Industries working in the field of training and education. Mrs. Doan philanthropic activities includes serving as volunteer librarian for Maysville Community and Technical College, Licking Valley Campus - Cynthiana during its start-up period. The Doans made a significant contribution to the scholarship fund in recognition of their daughter, Karen Doan Gunther, for her accomplishments in the field of medical research. Scholarships are awarded to students in the geographical region of the College's Licking Valley Campus at Cynthiana. City of Maysville, Maysville Honored by Maysville Community and Technical College The City of Maysville was instrumental in developing the plan and acquiring legislative support for the Maysville Community and Technical College Technical Center on the Maysville Campus. By making a significant contribution of time and support, the City ensured that expanded technical education became a reality throughout the area. When the bids for construction of the Technical Center exceeded the budget, the City of Maysville came to the rescue with a $250,000 commitment. The City continues to have representation on the Technical Center Advisory Board and the MCTC Foundation Board. It has also been a strong financial supporter of the industrial maintenance program and countless other College initiatives. Mason County Fiscal Court, Maysville Honored by Maysville Community and Technical College Maysville Community and Technical College can always depend on the Mason County Fiscal Court for advice and support. The county is represented on the Maysville Community and Technical College Technical Center Advisory Board and Fiscal Court members also attend many college sponsored activities and events. County officials believe in the power of a community and technical college education as evidenced by their constant involvement and insight into College enterprises and programs. The Fiscal Court helped ensure the completion of the Technical Center by generously donating $250,000 to the building fund. |
