Wade, Elizabethtown Honored by Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Bob Wade began his distinguished leadership in education by serving as the first chairman of Elizabethtown Community College's Advisory Board in 1964. Mr. Wade's 40 years of advocating for education has made lasting improvements to the economic, social and cultural well being of the residents of North Central Kentucky. For decades, Mr. Wade has been a contributing director to North Central Education Foundation and served as its chairman from 1994 to 1996. He currently serves on the Foundation's Executive Committee. He and his wife, Ella Mae, have established the Bob and Ella Mae Wade Scholarship Fund to benefit students. North Central Education Foundation, Elizabethtown Honored by Elizabethtown Community and Technical College For nearly 50 years, North Central Education Foundation has been synonymous with community, economic, and cultural advancement. In the 1950s, North Central Education Foundation provided the impetus for the legislation that established Kentucky's Community College System and founded Elizabethtown Community & Technical College. In 1960, the Foundation donated the land for the campus and invested millions of dollars to expand educational opportunities. The Foundation raises private money for three strategic purposes: student success, faculty and staff enrichment and capital projects. The Foundation recently donated the land for the new Regional Education Center. |
