Ed Buchanan understands and appreciates how private support helps Ashland Community and Technical College serve students and the community. He believes in the power of a community college education and what a local college can provide for its community. From 1949, Ed led the Community College Civic Chorus. For over 36 years Ed Buchanan provided leadership and direction to the chorus as it performed for numerous civic and education functions. An endowed scholarship was established in honor of Edward L. Buchanan in 1985. Initially, recipients of the scholarships were to be awarded to music majors and now its recipients are nursing students. Mr. Buchanan still teaches area students; but todays lessons are about giving back to their community through their Community and Technical College. |
