Muhlenberg Community Hospital has long provided valuable job opportunities and internship sites for Madisonville Community and Madisonville Technical Colleges graduates in nursing, surgical tech, physical therapy assistant, and respiratory care. In 1996, the hospital provided MCC with a gift of $125,000 designated to the new Muhlenberg County campus still one of the largest hospital gifts in the Community College System. Today, several members of the MCH Board of Directors continue to provide vital voluntary efforts for MCC and MTC, serving on allied health advisory committees as well as resource development groups who provide expanding development opportunities. |

The Everly Brothers Foundation has provided scholarship support for Muhlenberg County college students since 1989. In October 1994, the Foundation, headed by Phil and Don Everly and a group of Muhlenberg leaders, announced the donation of a 20-acre tract of land to Madisonville Community College for construction of an off-campus college site. Many of the Foundation officers including Joe Ben Tucker, Dennis Kirtley, and Mike Mercer helped MCC raise approximately $3 million in cash for construction of a 22,000 square foot multi-service college facility that was completed this past August. The Foundation continues to offer scholarship opportunities to Muhlenberg college students chiefly through funds generated at its annual Homecoming Concert. |
