Bill and Jan Schmidt�s extensive and distinguished commitment to Elizabethtown Community College began prior to the College�s opening. They were among the initial group to assist North Central Education Foundation with the purchase of the land designated for the College�s campus in 1960. For several decades the Schmidts have funded scholarships for dozens of students. During the Partner in Progress Campaign, once again the Schmidts presented the College with a major investment to insure its future capabilities. In addition to student scholarships and capital investments, Bill and Jan Schmidt have long supported the arts programs at ECC. |

Altec Industries, Inc. has been an enthusiastic supporter of Elizabethtown Technical and Elizabethtown Community Colleges since the new plant opened 4 years ago in Elizabethtown. The organization has donated equipment and training materials, such as a lathe, hydraulic components, and steel used in the Fluid Power, Machine Tool Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, and Welding Programs. Altec is a charter member of the Elizabethtown Industrial Foundation Training Consortium (EIFTC). Their employees serve on the EIFTC Maintenance and Computer Committees as well as the ETC Welding Program Advisory Committee, which helps steer the college curriculum to better serve industry in this area. They have further demonstrated support and confidence in the college�s programs by hiring former students. |
T. J. & Margaret Patterson, Elizabethtown

T. J. and Margaret Patterson have a great affection for educating young people. For many years they have supported innovative learning programs for students and helped bring technology to the classrooms. Over the years, T. J. has given generously of his engineering expertise to assist the building expansions at Elizabethtown Community College. He worked closely with both Elizabethtown Community and Elizabethtown Technical Colleges to attract economic development opportunities through his leadership role in Elizabethtown Industrial Foundation. Last year T. J. and Margaret endowed a scholarship fund with North Central Education Foundation for students desiring to attend Elizabethown Technical College. It was the first endowed scholarship fund established at ETC. Their wishes for enhancing the lives of others will forever be felt by their kindness. |

Whayne Supply Company has been a loyal and tireless supporter of the diesel technology program at Elizabethtown Technical College since 1988. Their organization has provided engines, multi-media training aids, state-of-the-art technical support, invaluable training opportunities for instructors, scholarships, specialized training for students, field trips, leadership at state Skills USA competitions, co-op and employment positions for diesel students, and the opportunity for ETC faculty to serve on a national idea exchange panel. The donation of a Caterpillar 3126 Electronic Diesel Engine was the most recent example of their dedicated support of the college�s diesel program and technical education. |

Joe and Lenelle Hays are loyal supporters of Elizabethtown Community College. The scholarship funds established by the Hays to honor Joe's father and sister have given educational opportunities for dozens of deserving students. They gave generously to the Partners In Progress Campaign and have created a Charitable Remainder Trust for ECC through North Central Education Foundation. Joe's father was a founding director of the Foundation and later served as its Chairman. Joe served as the Foundation's Chairman during the PIP Campaign and currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer. Joe's service to ECC also includes 25 years as a real estate instructor. |

AP Technoglass has supported Elizabethtown Community and Elizabethtown Technical Colleges on many levels. The company was a major contributor to the Partners in Progress campaign. Their employees provide valuable feedback during Advisory Committee meetings, as well as leadership in organizations such as serving as the Chair of the Elizabethtown Industrial Foundation Training Consortium (EIFTC) Board, and serving on the EIFTC Maintenance and Computer Committees. AP Technoglass has donated training materials and equipment such as programmable logic controls and motor and frequency controls for the Electricity and Industrial Maintenance Technology Programs, in addition to a trailer for ECC�s Team Challenge Course. ECC and ETC are grateful for the continual support AP Technoglass extends to the colleges. |
