The Rosenthal family has been associated with Paducah Junior College and Paducah Community College since 1932. Warren Rosenthal�s father, Govriel, was the chairman of the first PJC Board of Trustees. In the 80�s the Rosenthal�s began an endowment to fund professional development for faculty members at PCC. The Rosenthal�s have continued their support of PJC and PCC. Rosenthal Hall, on the PCC Campus, houses business and social sciences studies. The building was recently renovated with the Rosenthal�s support. Mr. Rosenthal is a charter member of the PJC Development Council and is actively involved in, and considered the founding father, of PJC�s successful Gala Scholarship Auction & Celebrity Golf Tournament.
BellSouth, Paducah
Being Honored by the West Kentucky Technical College Foundation
Accepting the award is BellSouth manager, Mr. Dwane Tucker
In the past year, BellSouth and its local representative and community leader, Mr. Dwane Tucker, stepped forward to help the College successfully complete three major projects. First, the company made a sizeable contribution to purchase the high tech equipment needed to establish the College�s very first Industrial Maintenance Program. Secondly, BellSouth generously provided funds to match a grant for the TechConnect project that brings Internet and e-mail access to every faculty member and every classroom at West Kentucky Technical College. And finally, BellSouth assisted in the preservation of the nearly 100 year history of West Kentucky Technical College by generously contributing to the publishing of My West Kentucky, authored by WKTC�s own marketing coordinator Janett Blythe. Thanks to BellSouth for being a true friend of West Kentucky Technical College.
George E. Beiderwell Foundation, Paducah
Being Honored by the West Kentucky Technical College Foundation
Accepting the award on behalf of the foundation is Mr. William Beasley
Mr. George E. Beiderwell, a well-known and very successfully businessman who owned and operated a manufacturing facility in Paducah, passed away in 1991 leaving a sizeable charitable trust to benefit West Kentucky Technical College, Paducah Community College, and Murray State University. The donation was the largest individual contribution ever made to West Kentucky Technical College or to a technical College in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. In 1992, the first annual distribution of funds from the trust increased the number of students receiving scholarships at West Kentucky Technical College from 10 students to 50 students. Today, the number of students who have been able to pursue a technical College education due to his generosity has surpassed 250 students. The dream of Mr. Beiderwell, along with his appreciation and high regard for West Kentucky Technical College, will continue for many years to come.
