Morton J. Holbrook has been both a local and statewide supporter of higher education, but none more important to Owensboro than his support of Owensboro Community College.  Many people acknowledge the beauty of our College campus. They are perhaps unaware that this benefactor provided most of the trees planted on our campus. He has served the community as a lawyer, a developer, and in many other capacities. We are grateful for the support and advocacy of Morton Holbrook.

Billy Joe Miles, Owensboro

Billy Joe Miles has served Owensboro Community College as a Board member, advocate, and a friend.  He is the kind of friend who says, �just tell me what you need.�  He has given Owensboro Community College his time, his resources, his management team, and even his business as an internship site, and always with the bottom line question, �what does it do for students?�  Owensboro Community College, as well as the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, has a true friend and supporter in Billy Joe Miles.  Though he doesn�t like the spotlight, he truly deserves a very public thank you!

Being Honored by Owensboro Technical College

Accepting the award is company manager, B.J. Wilson

B. J. Wilson from CED/ESCO Kentucky worked with Owensboro Technical College in the purchase of the RS Logix 500 software needed for the Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers.  With the help of ESCO, OTC was able to purchase the necessary software for 12 installations, at a savings of 75%.  ESCO also allowed two instructors to attend the required one-week training program at no cost to the College.

Titan Contracting and Leasing, Owensboro

Accepting the award on behalf of the company is Quality Control Manager, Mr. David Nuckols

David Nuckols, Titan Contracting and Leasing, serves on the Welding Program Advisory Committee and also on the Owensboro Technical College Advisory Council.  Titan Contracting and Leasing has continually supported the welding program by donations of plate metal and electrodes.  Mr. Nuckols further supports the program by referring potential students to the College, participates in job fairs, judges welding competitions, and gives classroom presentations.

John Stewart Hager, Owensboro

This awardee has been a supporter of Owensboro Community College since its inception.  He has recognized the need for public education in our community and has supported the College with his time, his advocacy, and his financial resources.  He served the community as a lawyer, publisher, and a founder and benefactor of Owensboro Community College.  He is always interested in the activities and events of the College and seeks to support the needs of students in many ways including major projects such as the recently constructed child care facility.  John Hager�s legacy to Owensboro Community College is his service to improve the lives of the citizens of Owensboro.
