To accept the award is Mr. Richard Frymire

Richard L. Frymire, a member of the Madisonville College Foundation for over 30 years, has built a wonderful legacy of service for the Commonwealth not only through Madisonville Community College, but also through his years of service with Centre College, as Chairman of the Murray State University Board of Regents, as state senator, and as Vice-Chairman of the Kentucky Historical Society Foundation.  From 1994 through 1998, Mr. Frymire served as General Chairman of MCC's Partners in Progress Campaign, a campaign which ultimately raised over $6.2 million.  Mr. Frymire and his wife Phyllis live in Madisonville, where he is currently Hopkins County Judge Executive.

John A. Stovall, Greenville

To accept the award is Ms. Sandra Higgins-Stinson

John A. Stovall, a native of Graham, Kentucky and graduate of Murray State University, began his professional career as a school teacher in Muhlenberg County.  After "switching" to the contracting business, Mr. Stovall ultimately became owner and president of Road Builders, Inc. of Greenville, Kentucky. In 1995, Stovall accepted the co-chair position, along with Dennis Kirtley of Central City, of the Muhlenberg County fund-raising effort to build an off-campus center of Madisonville Community College.  Through John's direction, perserverence and generosity, the "Muhlenberg Miracle" ultimately raised over $3 million , and a multi-service campus between Greenville and Central City is expected to be completed by July 2001.
