A true humanitarian first and always, Allene Craddock has touched the lives of countless citizens throughout the years. As a state representative from 1976 - 1986, Allene was pivotal in securing the funding for ECC�s Academic/Technical Building, as well as a building for Elizabethtown Technical College. She served on the state education committee for six years. Allene�s commitment to the community College, in addition to her financial support, is evidenced by her continuing involvement on the North Central Education Foundation Board. Through her more than 25 years on the board, including serving as board chair in 1987, Allene has played a key role in enhancing opportunities for students. She has devoted her life in service to others.

Dow Corning Corporation, and its Foundation, has been a long-time supporter of education at all levels, including postsecondary education. Its $100,000 gift to Elizabethtown Community College for Workforce Development will result in the naming of a specific area for this generous benefactor in the new Central Regional Postsecondary Education Center scheduled to open in the fall of 2001. The Dow Corning Foundation supports higher education in the areas of science, math, engineering, finance, business, arts/humanities, health, and social sciences, and supports two-year colleges in Dow Corning site communities. The colleges are very grateful for Dow Corning and the leadership provided by local plant manager Gary Coffman.

The Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation Training Consortium (EIFTC), a partnership between industry and educators, was created in 1987 to develop and implement training programs for local industry. The unique success of the EIFTC is the result of excellent cooperation among business and industry, Elizabethtown/Hardin County Industrial Foundation, Elizabethtown Community College, and Elizabethtown Technical College. Several thousand participants from over 50 businesses have attended classes tailored to meet their specific training requirements. As a result, our community is benefiting from a highly skilled workforce and an education system that is responsive to industry�s needs. This is truly a partnership dedicated to workforce excellence.

Mary and Jim Roberts possess a personal vision of quality and excellence for technical education. They invest their time, energy, and money to ensure that both faculty and students at Elizabethtown Technical College are recognized for their outstanding efforts. The Roberts promote our College by presenting annual awards and scholarships to teachers and students, and they demonstrate a high level of leadership and vision for technical education by actively serving on the College�s advisory committees. The Roberts have been dedicated friends and partners of technical education for many years, and they are very deserving of this recognition.

First Federal Savings Bank has been a strong supporter of postsecondary education in the north central region. In addition to its financial commitment of $100,000, First Federal Savings Bank provided the leadership that drove the success of the Partners in Progress Campaign. Led by the bank�s late president Larry Logsdon, the local Partners in Progress Campaign generated over $2 million, the most money ever raised by a single campaign in the area. Current Bank President Keith Johnson served on the North Central Education Foundation Board, and another NCEF director, William Duffy, is a vice-president of First Federal Savings Bank. The Colleges deeply appreciate the bank�s continuing support.
