Paul R. Gearheart and his wife, Elaine, have supported the College by donating monies to programs such as the Law Enforcement Technology Program and the donation of many in-kind services through Gearheart Communication Company. Mr. Gearheart has been active in the community and has served on Prestonsburg Community College�s Board of Directors both as a member and chairman.

Drs. Varia have supported the College by donating to the nursing laboratory, the Homemaker and Single Parent Program, and various scholarship programs. They have been very generous to both the College and the community. They both serve on the Big Sandy College Educational Foundation Board and other community boards and councils. Dr. Chandra shares her father�s belief: �You spend the money where you make it.�

Mr. Fred G. Francis has supported the Foundation and Prestonsburg Community College by his generous gift of real estate. This land not only has monetary value, but will also be used as an outdoor classroom for the various biology classes at the College. Through his munificence, many generations of students will learn to appreciate and care for the environment.

Accepting the award on behalf of the company is Mr. Mark Miller, Branch Manager
Whayne Supply Company, through the work of Mr. Mark Miller of the Pikeville office, has supported Mayo Technical College with generous in-kind donations and volunteer work. The company sponsored a scholarship for an area student, hosted a luncheon for Big Sandy area high school guidance counselors, and donated equipment for training. Mr. Miller is a member of the Mayo Advisory Board and Prestonsburg Community College's Rural Community College Initiative. The Colleges are very grateful for Whayne Supply and the leadership provided by Mr. Miller.
