Ashland, Ky.  - The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Board of Regents received an update on a number of innovative academic programs designed to align KCTCS curriculum with the needs of the state’s business and industry during its quarterly meeting today at Ashland Community and Technical College. The programs include the integration of soft skills education into the KCTCS curriculum and a Joint Associate-Bachelors (A2B) Nursing Career Pathway Program.

Versailles, Ky. – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and the University of Kentucky (UK) are sponsoring the fourth annual Supplier Diversity Fair on October 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. (EST). The event is free and will be at Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street. Minority-owned, women-owned, veteran-owned and differently-abled businesses interested in potential business opportunities with KCTCS and UK are invited to exhibit and/or attend the event.

There also will be an orientation session for new board members on Wednesday, September 14 at 3 p.m. at Ashland Community and Technical College’s Technology Drive Campus.

Versailles, Ky. – Two students were elected by their Student Government Association (SGA) peers to serve on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s (KCTCS) Board of Regents and to serve as student body co-presidents. Ellen Braden of Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) and Montre’ale Jones of Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) will serve one-year terms on the board and as student body co-presidents. Their terms begin immediately and continue through August 2017.

Versailles, Ky. – Eight colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) received Kentucky Coal County College Completion Student Services Grants from the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).

A new initiative of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is removing these and other barriers to help students understand what they're reading when visiting the KCTCS website.

Versailles, Ky. — Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) President Dr. Jay Box announced today that former KCTCS Vice President Dr. Gwen Joseph will become interim president of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) effective Aug. 15. Joseph retired from KCTCS in December 2011.
