KCTCS Fringe Benefits Rates


KCTCS offers a comprehensive benefit package to its faculty and staff members.  The package consists of core benefits such as health insurance, life/disability insurance, and retirement options.  To simplify budgeting and allocation processes, KCTCS has developed fringe benefits rates which are approved by KCTCS’ federal cognizant agency, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).  These rates are used to budget and allocate costs to all KCTCS salary and wages. 

 

Employee benefit plans included in the approved rates are:

            Medical Health Insurance

            KCTCS $50 Benefit (Health Supplemental for waived & single plans)

Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Social Security and Medicare taxes (FICA)

            Retirement Contribution Plan

            Workers’ Compensation

            Long-Term Disability Insurance

            Unemployment Compensation

            Employee Education Program – Tuition Waiver Program (Employees only)

 

KCTCS’ current federal approved fringe benefit rates (approval dated, May 25, 2007) for FY2008 and FY2009 are:

            38.6% for Regular Employees

            8.62% for Temporary Employees

              1.0% for Student Employees
