HUMAN RESOURCES POLICY ON-LINE HANDBOOK


This Kentucky Community and Technical College System Human Resources Policy On-Line Handbook replaces the KCTCS Personnel Policy Manual dated June 22, 1998.  The handbook contains policy excerpts from the KCTCS Policy Manual.


The handbook contains human resources-related Board policies and administrative policies and procedures that are a part of the KCTCS personnel system.  In addition, related KCTCS Human Resources Procedures that provide additional and more detailed information for certain specific issues and/or Board policies or administrative policies or procedures are also included in this handbook.  If related to a specific policy or procedure, the Human Resources Procedure is referenced after that related policy with a link included to the Human Resources Procedure.


This handbook is not intended as an employment contract (express or implied) and accordingly should not be considered as such.  Employees are expected to read, understand, and comply with the guidelines set forth in this handbook.


Unless otherwise designated after the title, policies and procedures apply to new employees and all applicable KCTCS employees (in colleges and the System Office) regardless of the personnel system by which they are covered. This includes the former University of Kentucky Community College System employees who were transferred to KCTCS from the University of Kentucky on January 14, 1998 or on July 1, 2004 for employees of Lexington Community College, and the former 18A/151B employees who were transferred to KCTCS from the Commonwealth of Kentucky/Cabinet for Workforce Development on July 1, 1998).


The policies/procedures are applicable to employees with a regular full time duration category.  In addition, select policies/procedures apply to employees who are regular part-time, as well as to employees with a temporary duration category.


Policies/procedures are subject to revisions.  KCTCS reserves the right to do so at its sole discretion.  Revisions may include changing, rescinding, or adding to any policies, benefits, or practices described in this handbook.  Revisions may be made without prior notice to employees.  It is your responsibility to keep your personal copy of the handbook up-to-date.
