Cultural Diversity
This office is responsible for:
The leadership of cultural diversity activities of KCTCS;
Advisory service regarding cultural diversity;
Development and coordination of a System-wide effort to promote inclusion while addressing issues such as language and cultural differences;
Development and delivery of training programs on cultural diversity, cultural competence, and building a diversity-friendly organizational climate;
Monitoring the efforts to promote and address cultural diversity issues as they impact faculty and staffing patterns;
Coordination of cultural diversity workshops/training sessions for the campuses and surrounding communities;
Consultation and guidance with KCTCS college presidents, leadership teams, and local diversity directors to assist in determining a positive plan of action;
Direct assistance to KCTCS campuses with recruitment and retention of African American faculty and staff.
