About “Flags”
What does it mean if an instructor raises a flag about me?
If an instructor raises a flag then that means that he or she is concerned about you and wants to help by notifying you about the issue.
What should I do if a professor raises a flag about my performance in his or her class?
You should contact your professor as soon as possible so that you can discuss your performance in his/her class so far. You should listen to your professor’s feedback about your performance and make improvements based on your discussion so that you can start doing better in that class before it is too late.
If one of my instructors raises a flag about my class performance how will I be notified?
You will receive an email sent to your KCTCS email address. In addition, if you log into Starfish you will see the flags that have been raised about you.
What does it mean when I receive a Kudo from a professor?
A Kudo is a positive flag that a professor raised about you in Starfish. It means that you are doing a great job in your class and you should keep up the good work! You can always feel free to send your professor a quick thank you email.
